Neurological Lyme Disease Diagnosis
Paul has now received a serious Neurological Lyme Disease Diagnosis. After dozens of tests over the last weeks and having his labs examined by the top doctors and Lyme specialist in the US, Germany, and Latin America the worst suspicions were confirmed .
He has been identified as having an advanced stage which doctors are estimating began growing 20-30 year ago in his body. Most likely from a tick Bite during his years of hunting in the Sierra Nevada mountains with his Dad & Grandpa (which is now a known hotbed of ticks with Lyme disease).

This diagnosis means that in addition to it attacking and decimating his joints and muscles on the right side of his body which has suffered 15 shoulder dislocations, 2 right shoulder surgeries, lower Lumbar procedures to L3/4 4/5 discs that mysteriously developed dozens of painful micro tears, and now most recently a right hip surgery to try and alleviate constant pain from his groin adductor region - the tendon that travels to his right knee - as well as the nerve along the IT band of his right quad-This is what had prevented him from sitting without severe pain for more than 10-15 mins, as observed by many of his clients as he met with them at a standing desk or kneeling next to the table while helping them develop a finance plan. It has now entered and is attacking his nervous system. It has also been confirmed that it has crossed the blood/brain barrier and is beginning to cause lapses in cognitive function, panic attacks, severe mood swings, depression, partial paralysis and motor skill challenges on a daily basis.
Anyone that knows Paul can imagine that once he had the diagnosis in hand he has relentlessly pursued every possible way to allow his body to heal implementing a special anti-inflammatory diet and supplement regiment. His typical day at the clinic is from 8 am – 4pm 6 days a week but he begins his day at 3:45 am when he does his functional movement routine 7 days a week (designed by Ben Kleinert from Kinetik performance) mobility and myofascial release , joint &muscle stability work, meditation, holotropic diaphragmatic breath exercise (Wim Hof method), 200 degree sauna followed by 5 minute ice cold showers before heading into the clinic for intense therapies that include, 8-10 IVs, IV laser therapy, hyperbaric chamber. This is in addition to the targeted injections into the areas most affected by the disease with PRP, Ozone & stem cells with ports then placed in the injections sites for the lasers to help enhance the effectiveness of the treatments. These days will often end in a wheelchair or walker.
When the Doctors asked Paul why he smiles during these painful injections his response was “Every needle is one closer to me being able to be with my sweet Steph and take my Asher, Scotia, & Griffin fishing and on adventures. I tell myself thank you as the needle punctures deep into the most painful and damaged areas of my body, thank you for my healing, thank you for these doctors… I’m so so grateful”
Now that his body has successfully been purged and cleared of all the toxins and medications over the last 6 weeks (from the years of improper diagnosis and prescribed medications) he has been fueled with nutrition, massive amount of vitamins, minerals and innovative medicines and the body, mind, and spirit are now beginning to fight back against the disease. It is still a long road ahead.
Here is what we need to ask, humble, painfully vulnerable and hopeful that the collective community we have lovingly poured our hearts, souls, hard work and tears into for all these years can rally and lift our family through this time. I promise you Paul is documenting this and has already developed plans and protocols for others suffering. So the bottom line is after spending 100’s of thousands for doctors and specialist in the US we have found hope and a plan that is creating multiple days that are pain free! He has been without pain medications for over 50 days as of this writing! The stark truth is we have already spent 60k + in the last 6 weeks alone on these medical treatments, while a fraction of what they cost in the states, there is no help from insurance. Even though most of the heavy lifting has been done to set the body up for continued healing and recovery, In order for us to fully eradicate this fierce disease it is going to take at least one week of treatment out of every month for the next 6-12 months to see a recovery. With an estimated cost of 10-12k per month and given that flare ups will occur there are new limitations and we are unsure how often Paul will be able to work.
He’s incredibly grateful and appreciative of several of his top clients and his business partner AJ Schackman for continuing to run the business without him but it may be several months before he an return to full time status if at all. He is beginning to develop a coaching and consulting business he can run from anywhere even while receiving treatment at the clinic to help create income for the family and we trust these things will happen as they are intended. As of this writing we don’t have the funds to cover the upcoming 18k bill due on Monday or the treatments scheduled for the end of the month (8-10k more) but we have faith in the goodness of people, in the collective community of hope, healing and resource we humbly now come, vulnerable, scared and tearfully ask for support in any way that is possible. Prayer is critical especially since it affects the brain chemistry in some alarming ways.
